About Steiermark

Steiermark, also known as Styria, occupies a large portion of Austria’s Eastern Alps and includes important lowland areas that support agriculture and settlements. The region features prominent Alpine peaks such as Reichenstein and Windberg, with summer hiking and winter skiing as key seasonal activities. The Styrian wine regions—Südsteiermark, Vulkanland Steiermark, and Weststeiermark—are officially recognized in Austria’s wine classification system.
